Use UPMC To Access Your Exchange E-mail And Calendar

Exchange is an email and calendaring system which enables you to access your emails in different systems and organize your calendar scheduling. It is the most popular and globally used system which can be accessed from all kinds of PC, Mobile devices, Tablet computers and so on.

Ways To Access:

You can use Outlook Web Access or Microsoft Outlook on your PC. All kinds of android devices, Apple I Phone, I Pad, Pod touch, Windows mobile devices and other smart phones come with in-built mailing feature. They support your exchange account to be configured.

How To Access?

Procedure 1:

  • Visit mail.upmc.edu .
  • Once you are on the home page, click the link “access your exchange email and calendar”.
  • Select type of your computer foe security purpose.
  • Check the box for the right version of out look.
  • Enter your user name and password in the respective fields.
  • Click on the “sign in” button at the end.

Procedure 2:

For Outlook Express:

Settings are different for earlier version of outlook 2007 than newer versions like 2010 and 2013.

Outlook 2007:

  • Once you have connected your computer to internet start Outlook.
  • Select Account Settings from Tools menu.
  • Click on change option after selecting Exchange account.
  • Under Logon network security you will find a drop down box. Select Negotiate authentication from there.
  • Go to connection tab and you will find Connect to HTTP Microsoft Exchange option. Enable it.
  • Select Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP
  • To select your Exchange server name double click on Exchange server name.
  • Go to connection tab be selecting More settings….
  • Under connecting anywhere option select ‘’connect the Microsoft Exchange using HTTP’’.
  • Open proxy settings.
  • Enter your proxy server name.
  • Check the On slow network, connect by http fast, and then connect by TCP/IP.
  • For Proxy verification settings select authentication.
  • Click on ok and finish button respectively and restart outlook.
  • Provide your username and password to start using your account.
  • Now you will receive and send your emails using outlook and organize calendar.

For Outlook 2010 And 2013:

  • Once you have connected your computer to internet start Outlook and Info from File tab.
  • Select Account Settings from Account setting drop box.
  • Double click on Microsoft exchange server.
  • Click on encryption checkbox under Security tab.
  • Go to connection tab and you will find ‘’Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP’’ option. Enable it by clicking on checkbox.
  • Open the exchange proxy settings.
  • Enter your proxy server name.
  •  Check the ‘on slow network, connect using http fast, then connect using TCP/IP’’ option.
  • For Proxy authentication settings select authentication.
  • Click on ok and finish button respectively and restart outlook
  • Provide your username and password to start using your account.
  • Now you will receive and send your emails using outlook and organize calendar.

For Other Mobile Devices:

For other devices like I Phone, I Pad, smart phones, etc. the settings steps are almost the same.

  • Enter your mail, contacts, calendar settings and add a new account
  • Select Microsoft Exchange
  • Enter all required information like email ID, Domain, username, password, server name, etc.
  • Complete all steps correctly and you are done.

You can organize all your dates, schedules, meetings and important notification using its smart calendar and you can read, send, store and categorise your emails on your system. So configure it and start using.
